Waterlogged meadow with western marsh orchids in Háje nad Jizerou
This is a wet to waterlogged meadow in the locality of Pekelsko above the village of Háje nad Jizerou. The meadow had not been mowed for several years, with a layer of old growth and invasive woody plants were growing at the edges of the meadow. The meadow is a critically endangered non-calcareous moss bog habitat.
In 2016, as part of habitat mapping, a large number of western marsh orchid (250 individuals) were recorded on the site, Common Twayblade (Listera ovata) grow here, and in the past even marsh grass of Parnassus was reported here.
We started mowing on the 0.4 ha meadow in 2022.
