As a result of changes in landscape management, the area of varied and flowery meadows has been significantly reduced. This has also reduced many locations that could provide suitable conditions for the life of many endangered species of plants and animals.
We are therefore happy that, thanks to support from Norway funds, we were able to start work on the restoration of selected meadow habitats in the territory of the Liberec region.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

As part of the project, we focus on meadows with protected or threatened species and biotopes from the red lists, especialy those meadows that are very difficult to be maintained in the desired condition. The reason may be poor accessibility for equipment, these meadows are often steep or waterlogged. Some were registered as important landscape features in the past precisely because of their unique composition of flora, but without care they have gradually become overgrown and degraded. We are trying to change that.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We take care of meadows that we managed to buy in the past, as well as meadows of other owners. These are mountain meadows on the Je\u0161t\u011bd ridge, wetland meadows in Doln\u00ed V\u00edtkov and Jablonn\u00e9 v Podje\u0161t\u011bd\u00ed, and we also have agreements with the owners and take care of the meadows around Lomnice nad Popelkou, the meadows in Vesec valley on the outskirts of Liberec, the mountain orchid meadow in significant landscape feature (VKP) Horn\u00ed \u010cern\u00e1 Studnice, or a sloping, dry-loving hillside in significant landscape feature(VKP) Volaveck\u00e9 str\u00e1n\u011b.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The project supported by Norwegian funds is a three-year project, but it is certain that it will take more years until, with proper care, a meadow grows to its maximum beauty and species diversity. We would also like to help restore the owners' lost relationship with their land, so that they can start taking care of at least part of their meadows themselves after the end of the project. At the same time, we are also active in commenting on the system of agricultural subsidies and landscape care subsidies, the focus and scope of which do not allow for effective and sustainable care of similar sites in the countryside, and this system needs to be changed.
